Post 7: My life's theme
Thus far, I think my life's theme is to embrace who you are, but also to choose who you want to be.
I attribute this theme to my father, who I absolutely believe was put on this Earth with the intentions to be a role model father. He is fantastic, and ever since I was a little girl he has told me to always be my genuine self and not to fake anything for anyone. This includes the part of my identity of being a woman, and my dad has made it clear that I should be who I was born to be, but that I also have choices and I should choose to be the woman I want to be.
That being said, he has always reminded me that no one controls me or my emotions. That I choose how I take things and how I react to them. In short, he has always encouraged me to choose happiness in all situations. He is just great!

ReplyDeleteIt's great that you had a father that was supportive! Sometime, it's hard to properly express yourself, a lot of people wish to create nothing but hate towards people who do not live like them. The fact you had your dad as a role model is great!
