Post 15: What I've learned
Overall, I really enjoyed this class. For the first time, I was taught to really analyze literature, but without it being boring. I learned how exciting it is, and how much meaning authors put into each of their words and their overall works.
The most recent example, and the one I can explain best, is my new appreciation for Shakespeare. I had read some Shakespeare before, and I knew that there was conflict and lost loves; but a perfect example of what this class has taught me to do is what we talked about today in class:
Shakespeare strategically used MANY dramatic takes and ideas in his plays, and this class has taught me to point them out and how important it is to, also, understand works from their time period's point of view. Today we talked about "Othello" and how he had made drama through the different races, faiths, ages, and more. This class taught me to catch these things and understand their significance. I'm really happy I got to take this class.
And I'm really happy that you were in this class. I think you've learned much, and you are sharing it well in your writing. Compare this post with some of your earlier ones. Much better. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI could tell you would be enjoying class and soaking in everything in class and showing it within your work. It really was a great pleasure to have you in class and to work alongside you.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blogs during this semester keep up the good work peer!
ReplyDeleteI think this class has helped me in the same way. I've not really had an interest in analyzing pieces of literature that didn't immediately strike my interest, but analyzing what we have throughout this course has taught me that there's a lot to enjoy about any piece of literature.
